Silver does particularly well in the fall, at least in four out of the past five years. Excluding the deflation fears that surfaced in 2008 and during the Financial Crisis panic, silver has proven to do very well in the last four months of the year. Follow the Trend As seen on the chart below, there is a very obvious trend forming with silver prices. That is, they settle down during the summer, only to soar as Indian buying kicks in during the fall and continue to rise all the way to January.

*A quick glimpse at a not so high quality chart from 2001-2005 shows similar results, with one year, 2001, being break even.Silver’s Spunk One thing that keeps me away from playing this apparently profitable trend is that silver tends to be highly volatile. Either it leaves you to laugh your way to the bank, or crying as you see your investment go up and down 4-5% on a regular basis.
