Joe beat Melvin Guillard in an amazing 47 seconds, despite being considered the underdog. Lauzon believes Guillard was overconfident and arrogant before the fight and that he hadn't taken the fight seriously leading him to underestimate Joe. Lauzon displayed strong boxing skills to rock Melvin then followed up with a BJJ submission.
Lauzon is looking forward to making a run for the title now. He is injury free and after a rest will be looking for his next opponent.
