This video gives an introduction to the Kajukendo Won Hop Kuen Do system founded by Al Dacascos. Al demonstrates the principles and concepts of the art, concentrating on evading an attack while striking simultaneously. He moves onto the Spearing Movement, again showing how to both defend and attack simultaneously and blend one offensive move into the next. The Defensive Posting segment shows a greater flow of techniques from an initial defense. The Kajukenbo system is clearly designed for close quarters fighting and several elbow techniques have already been demonstrated thus far. The following section on Knee and Elbow Drills details how these skills are learned. Al demonstrates an elbow form and shows how the movements can be applied against an attacker. The Weapon Disarming section introduces defenses against the knife, stick or baton and the hand gun. Finally a very interesting practice called the 6 Count Flow Drill is detailed. One person takes the role of aggressor and attacks with a 6 move combination. Upon finishing, his partner takes over as the attacker and responds with his own 6 move combination from wherever the last combo finished.
