The first technique Lyoto Machida demonstrates is a rear leg roundhouse kick followed up by a reverse punch delivered as the kicking leg is retracted. As Lyoto points out in the video, do not retract the kicking leg then punch. Punch as the kicking leg is moving back into your stance.

Next Lyoto shows a rear roundhouse kick followed by a spinning backfist. Note that he is starting the combination with his opposite leg forward to that of his opponent. So, if your opponent has his left leg forward, you need to be in the southpaw stance (right leg forward) and vice versa. After making contact with the kick your kicking leg should follow through to land on the outside of your opponent's stance. From here allow the momentum generated by your kicking leg to follow through and spin your around, ending with a backfist.

Lyoto moves on to show us a front kick followed by a jab. This combination is one of the simpler ones and is ideal for scoring points. Use your front leg to kick into your opponent's midriff then, as you are landing, angle your body away from your opponent while executing a lead jab.

Lyoto Machida moves on to show us a front kick using the rear leg followed by a jab and a hook. The front kick and the jab form the main part of the combination and this is again a simple series of movements to perform, though somewhat more powerful that the combination detailed above. Using the rear leg for the kick will allow you to generate more power and in turn your momentum will be that much greater to power the jab.

The next series is a kicking combination: a front kick using the rear leg to the opponent's midriff followed by a high roundhouse kick with (the new rear leg.

The next combination makes use of body movement (tai sabaki) to gain a positional advantage. Move laterally to the inside of the opponent's body, taking you away from his center line. From here launch a side kick with the foot that is closest to your opponent. As the kicking leg lands step through with a reverse punch.

The next combination that Lyoto Machida demonstrates is a jump front kick to jab to uppercut. The initial jump front kick is the one Lyoto made famous in his knockout of Randy Couture in UFC 129 (and through which Randy lost a tooth). This is a powerful kick and is followed by a jab which is enhanced by the momentum generated from the kick, ending with an uppercut.

The final combination demonstrated is a hook kick to reverse punch to knee. The hook kick (reverse roundhouse kick) travels to the outside of the opponent's body and then hooks back in to make contact with his head. Once the kicking leg has landed move your body forward, punching at the same time and ending with a knee attack.
