The practice of martial arts covers a wide spectrum of areas, some related to sport, others to self-defense and still others to the promotion of a healthy body, mind and spirit. Some practitioners prefer to concentrate on one particular area while others like to experience everything the arts martial have to offer. By tweaking your training all martial arts can be just as easily used to gain the insight of a Zen monk as they can to get a flat stomach.
