Covering different variations on guard passes. The first variation (after breaking opponent's guard) is to raise your right knee while keeping your right elbow inside and touching. Go for a double underhook below his thighs and lift him to the small of his back is resting tight on your own thighs while you take a kneeling position. Use your arms to control his body and legs and move into side control.
From the same starting position or raised right knee go for a single underhook with your left arm. Your right knee collapses forward over his thigh while your right arm snakes behind his head. Co-ordinate your left arm and leg to prevent him from taking half guard. Move into side control.
The third approach is if a single or double under hook to the thighs is unavailable. In this case snake your right arm below your opponent's head while raising the left knee. Your left hand grasps your right hand, giving you control of your opponent's upper body. Again, take side control.
The final example of these no gi guard passes is a cross knee pass. From the same start use your right arm to defend against his left leg while pinning his body down. Your right knee slides across to the opposite side while your upper body moves over his body. Use your head to control your opponent's head and, in turn, his body. You can enter a scarf hold or go into side control.
