The double hip method utilizes the hips to bring one's whole body weight behind a strike. This is achieved by moving the pivot point of the hips forward from a central position to a point over the lead leg. This action, combined with the torque created by the hips, allows you to bring your whole body weight into a technique. The crucial body movement can be applied to the delivery of punches, elbows or 'power slaps' as well as kicks.
