Striking Together - A Martial Arts Principle This strategy involves waiting until an opponent is approximately 3/4 committed to his technique - that is, beyond the point of no return - before using body evasion and a simultaneous strike to gain victory. The same principle can be used offensively by feinting with a technique to draw a reaction. Once that reaction has developed to the extent that the defensive movement cannot be retracted, the attacking angle is changed to successfully strike at a now open target area.
